I was born and raised in El Paso, TX. I started my dance journey back in 2014 when I discovered ballroom dancing. I was then bit by the dance bug and continued my dance journey by completing a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a DanceSport Concentration from New Mexico State University. I achieved many top placement awards while competing collegiately in all four styles including, Latin, Rhythm, Smooth, and Ballroom. I also won numerous years in our local “Look Who’s Dancing” competition. After teaching locally for almost 2 years my desire for growth and passion for dance lead me to find Fred Astaire Dance Studios. I joined the Ahwatukee FADS team on August 5, 2019 and have been loving every moment since. After joining the team, I became one of the top teachers in the region and my students have had top placements in regional and national competitions in the solo division.
What I love the most about teaching is watching my students grow as dancers and as people. I love it when my students say “Remember when I wasn’t able to do this?” and are now able to achieve it. Giving people the confidence, encouragement, and support to make their dance dreams come true is what makes my job so gratifying as a dance instructor.
My advice to anyone out there is to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new because you never know how it may impact your life.
