Michelle Grady – Studio Owner, Manager, & Instructor

Dancing always came naturally to Michelle. She can recall dancing around the house as early as age 6, performing around the house for her mom and dad. Her mother could see the passion and enthusiasm and instantly enrolled her in school activities that would help hone her craft and express herself creatively.

Born in Chicago, Michelle moved with her family to Memphis, Tennessee as a young girl. While Michelle would joke that she was trained in the streets, her first ballroom training came from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, where she earned a Full Bronze Certification.

Michelle has since gone on to win 2 first place championships at Empire State Dance Sport, in rhythm and smooth dancing. She has also been a finalist in several smooth dancing competitions beginning in 2010.

As a believer in the therapeutic powers of dance, Michelle says what she enjoys most about is seeing the positive affect dancing can have on a person, both physically and mentally. She believes that dancing can provide profound benefits to a person’s emotional state, self-image, and communication skills.

When she’s not dancing, Michelle is a self-proclaimed patron of the visual arts. She is a member of the High Museum’s Young Professionals, a group that aims to foster an appreciation of the arts in Atlanta’s young professional community. She is also a member of the Black Dolls Philanthropist Group.
