There’s not much that compares with a Fred Astaire regional dance competition, and Texarama is almost here! Please join us and your Austin studio fellow dancers who are taking part at the San Louis resort in Galveston from Sept. 13 (Thursday) through Sept. 15 (Saturday).
The theme is European countries and our country is Spain! We have a flamenco line dance for the line dance competition.
Attire is Spanish-themed so red, black, white, polka dots and lace would look great on you!
Whether you’re competing or cheering people on there is a lot to do in Galveston. In addition, this is a great opportunity to meet and greet, mingle with Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studios students from across the region, and support the efforts of your studio friends who are in it to win it!

- Check Out with Alan (Regional Dance Director):
For people interested in a Progress Check or Checking Out, Alan will be here on Tuesday, Sept. 18, to do that. This is a wonderful chance to assess your dancing and see how you’ve advanced and how you need to improve to reach your goals
He will also be available that day for coaching.
- Spanish Remix Theme Party:
We will be remixing our Texarama theme, and this event is open to the public so let your friends know. We’ll have food, drinks, dancing and games. This is set for Thursday, Sept. 20.
