Aniket discovered his love for dancing at an early age of two, as he simply mimicked dance moves off the television. Over the years, he went on to get trained in different dance styles including hip-hop, R&B, Bollywood and contemporary. During his time in Mumbai, he actively competed in district and national level hip-hop and Bollywood competitions, and was one of the lead dancers on his team.
When he moved to the US in 2014, he took up ballroom dancing to “experiment” with the style, but soon found himself dedicated to training and competing in American Rhythm and International Latin styles at the regional and national level. In 2017, he won the NDCA Open to the World Amateur American Rhythm championship title with his then partner Charisse Nocera.
Since then, Aniket has won several ballroom competitions in the Amateur Championship Rhythm category in the New England Area. At Fred Astaire studios, Aniket brings his passion for ballroom dancing along with his diverse dance background, to share his experiences and joy of dancing with his students. He believes that, “Dance is a universal language that brings people closer”.
