Kevin Carpenter emerged into the world of dance with social salsa and swing. He soon found ballroom dancing and took off! As a student at the University at Buffalo he entered the competitive scene of Collegiate Dancesport across the North East at competitions such as the Harvard Classic and Ohio Star Ball. While in college, he facilitated the development of UB Dancesport—a collegiate ballroom team—where he helped teach other students.
He has knowledge and experience in coaching students of all ages, and uses techniques from Sports Psychology to help students build confidence and receive the most value from each of their experiences. Kevin has a passion for both the art of choreography and the sport of competition.
Kevin graduated with his B.A. in Psychology and Linguistics in 2017, and immediately began teaching here at Fred Astaire! Besides his professional dance career, Kevin enjoys Mixed Martial Arts, and is currently enrolled in UB’s MBA program.
