Fred Astaire Covid Safety Precautions in Carmel

Here at Fred Astaire Dance Studios, your health and safety are our number one priority. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have followed—and often exceeded—the safety recommendations set forth by local regulations and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Our COVID-19 Safety Precautions

Here are the steps we have been taking from the very beginning:

  • Clean the studio thoroughly and often using antibacterial and antiviral products.
  • Spray Cavicide on all hard surfaces daily, including chairs, counters and tabletops, doorknobs, faucets, and toilet handles.
  • Require face coverings for all students, teachers, and staff who enter the studio.
  • Encourage frequent handwashing.
  • Keep hand sanitizer available for anyone who wants to use it.

Furthering Your Safety with the Aerus Pure & Clean

We are now taking an even more aggressive approach by adding an air scrubber to our Carmel location.  The Aerus Pure & Clean relies on ActivePure® technology to help make the studio cleaner, healthier, and safer. This air scrubber uses RF ion generation, a UV lamp, and HEPA and activated carbon filters to purify, sanitize, and filter the air. Consider its many capabilities:

  • Safely kills viruses, bacteria, mold, germs, and allergens
  • Reduces airborne volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
  • Reduces airborne and surface levels of the coronavirus
  • Generates no ozone
  • Qualifies as NASA-certified cleanroom technology

In short, the Aerus Pure & Clean is the most powerful surface and air cleaning technology ever discovered! We installed this air scrubber at our Carmel location to make our studio a clean and comfortable place to dance.

Friendly Reminder

For the health and safety of all students, teachers, and staff, we would like to remind you to please stay home if you are experiencing any cold, flu, or COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, sneezing, etc.). Feel free to call the studio to let your teacher know you won’t be attending your lesson that day.

FAQs About Dance Lessons During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Is returning to the dance studio worth the risk?

If you have a preexisting health condition or live with a high-risk individual, you may hesitate to return to the studio. That’s why we never pressure our students to take in-person dance lessons! Weigh the risks yourself, and come back when you’re ready. We hope that by keeping you informed of our protocols, you will feel safe and confident returning to in-person dance lessons soon.

What can I do as a dancer to make the studio safer?

In addition to all the safety measures we have in place, we ask you to please wear a mask the entire time you are in the studio. We recommend bringing a spare in case your first face covering becomes damp from sweat or heavy breathing.

Then, please maintain a six-foot distance between yourself and others at all times. Avoid mingling before and after class to reduce exposure to airborne germs. Finally, please wash your hands often and use our available hand sanitizer as desired.

Are online lessons still available?

Yes! If you don’t feel comfortable with in-studio learning yet, you can stay physically active by dancing at home. Rest assured that we will continue to offer top-notch online dance lessons for the foreseeable future. These are available as live-streamed lessons and on-demand videos to suit your needs. With the Fred Astaire Dance Studios Online Lessons platform, you’ll benefit from the same high standard of excellence we built our reputation on.
