Connie had previous dance experience, but was <strong>so impressed with our instructors and the fun atmosphere<\/strong>, she decided to get back into the groove with Fred Astaire Colleyville on a regular basis.\u00a0\u00a0Two years and forty pounds later (yes, <strong>in addition to honing her dancing skills, Connie has also lost nearly 40 pounds!<\/strong>) Connie will be putting her best foot forward on behalf of all of the great causes supported by our local Rotary Club during their \u201cDancing for the Stars\u201d event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 16.6pt; caret-color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; color: #242424;\">Connie moved to Texas three years ago for her job with leading eye care company Alcon in Fort Worth. As an engineer, she has a passion for the technology Alcon develops that gives people the gift of sight.\u00a0 <strong>Connie is a frequent motivational speaker helping women advance in technology-related careers<\/strong>. Married for 34 years, she has one daughter and lists dancing as one of her favorite pastimes. \u201c<strong>Ballroom dancing is part of my lifestyle,\u201d Connie says. \u201cIt helps bring balance to my life.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"More Benefits of Dance? - You got it!\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mOlu0EDWvY4?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/www.fredastaire.com\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"caret-color: #000000;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; color: #242424;\"><span style=\"color: purple;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/colleyvillerotaryclub.org\/dancing-for-the-stars-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cDancing for the Stars\u201d<\/a> <\/span><\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; color: #2a3139;\">is a unique, fun-filled, community-wide fundraiser sponsored annually by <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; color: black;\"><span style=\"color: black;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/colleyvillerotaryclub.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Rotary Club of Colleyville<i>.<\/i><\/a> <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; color: #201f1e; background: white;\"><span style=\"background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;\"><strong>This year\u2019s event is being held on February 29th at the Colleyville Center<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; color: #2a3139;\">Area business celebrities are paired with a professional dance instructor to prepare one dance, which will be performed at the event.
