We just love this time of year and we especially love it because our Winter Festival begins on Nov. 5 for sponsorship. This is a month-long celebration where we give back to the students with a lot of games, contests, parties and more!
But there’s also giving that goes with the giving back. Hey, it’s getting to be that time of year. For this festival, we have decided to include charitable causes as well. The charities are Operation Gratitude, which is geared towards sending care packages to U.S. troops for the holidays, the Houston food bank and Toys for Tots.
Students are able to choose which one they would like to give to as part of their festival package.
We realize how hectic schedules can become with Thanksgiving just ahead. In fact, stress levels rise around the holidays as time gets squeezed and demands increase. There’s family coming to town, cooking, shopping, parties.
We don’t want anyone thinking there’s no relief for that build-up of holiday stress. There is – it’s called dancing! As a dance blog at Penn State University notes: “The scientific reason for why dance has the ability to act as a stress reliever stems from the idea that when the body feels good, the mind does too. Any type of physical activity releases the neurotransmitter, endorphins, which serve to alleviate stress.” https://sites.psu.edu/sbxoxo/2015/11/05/dancing-to-relieve-stress/
Keep that positive mind-set as you embark on your whirlwind of activities. Feed your body and your brain. Make sure that some of that time on your calendar is scheduled for you right here at the Cypress studio. Come, dance, let that sense of relief and pleasure wash over you.
Please take part in Winter Festival and our charitable drives, and carve out time for you to dance your stress away.
