Dedham dancers are headed to the New England Dancesport Championships! Thursday March 9th through the 11th at the Mystic Marriott for a Fairy Tales themed weekend of dancing, dining and fun.
Local student dancers will be competing with their professional partners in dances like the waltz, rumba, salsa, swing, foxtrot, argentine tango and more. We are very proud to have our amazing students representing the Dedham Studio at this glamorous event. We will be working hard to earn one of the prestigious titles from the event:
Super School: This studio does it all and does it all in a super way! The studios get points for accuracy and timeliness of paperwork. Points are earned throughout the competition for participation, Team Spirit and cheering spectators. The studio with the most points at the end of Saturday wins Super School.
Top Studio: This is figured by the computer based on points for number of entries and placements. It’s not just about how many entries…but how well the dancers place.
School Spirit: Based on creativity of decorations, presence in ballroom and at meals throughout weekend, cheering spectators and display of team spirit.
Best in Show: Awarded to the studio that best represents the standards of Fred Astaire and the competition including a combination of use of theme in decorations, adhering to guidelines and deadlines, and generally representing the franchise and the competition and the studio team in a positive and enthusiastic way.
