Ryan Kenner


Born in New England, Ryan started dancing while pursuing his B.S. in Management Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. After College, Ryan continued to pursue his passion for dance while working for companies such as Computer Sciences Corporation and Apple. Ryan also founded his own media company Ryan Kenner Photography and provided photography and video services for dance competitions throughout the world.

As an amateur dancer, Ryan was the United States Amateur Smooth Vice Champion and with his Pro-Am Coach, Larinda McRaven, he was the United States Rising Star Champion, the North American Champion, and a multi-time US and World Finalist.

As a Professional, Ryan and his wife/partner Laura have been Fred Astaire World Rising Star Smooth Finalists and have been finalists in many Rising Star and Open Smooth events such as the Commonwealth Classic, Eastern U.S. Dancesport Championships, St. Louis Star Ball, Dancing A La Carte, Windy City Open, BBCC, First Coast Classic, and NJ State Open.

Ryan specializes in both International Standard and American Smooth. He is passionate about education and loves to share the knowledge he has learned with his students. He has worked with many college and high-school ballroom teams over the past 5 years, and had been a Judge at many collegiate dance competitions.

Ryan currently works at Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Massachusetts.
