Josephine was born and raised in Michigan where she began ballroom dancing around the age of 12, competing Pro/Am and winning the top overall Junior at the Michigan Dance Challenge in 2013.

Josephine then when on to attend Michigan State University, where she joined the Michigan State University Ballroom Dance Team, competing across the Midwest at collegiate competitions. During her senior year, she ran the Michigan State University ballroom dance team as the President, while also creating the team lesson curriculum and training student teachers.

During her college years, she began teaching professionally at a studio in the Lansing, Michigan area. She competed with students in various Pro/Am competitions throughout the Midwest. She also participated in several Dancing with the Local Stars events as a local professional and choreographed routines for the events.

Upon graduating from university, Josephine moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to continue her professional dance career, teaching and competing professionally full-time at a local studio. At her first competition as a professional, Josephine won the Novice Professional American Smooth event.

After a few years in Minnesota, Josephine got an amazing opportunity to join Fred Astaire Dance Studios, so she moved down to Fort Myers to continue her professional dancing.

Josephine is very excited to be a part of Fred Astaire Fort Myers. She thoroughly enjoys getting students started on their dance journey, and especially loves watching a student learn their very first dance steps! Josephine is thrilled for this opportunity to share her passion for ballroom dance at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Fort Myers.
