Maksym Hrusha began dancing at the age of 6 in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine. As a competitor, Maksym was a multi-time Champion and Finalist in Regional dance competitions, and a Finalist in Ukrainian National Championship competition. He graduated from Rovno State University of Ukraine with a degree in Choreography in 2012. After graduation, Maksym began coaching at the Youth DanceSport Club “Sphere,” where, as Head Coach, he led his students to top prizes in Ukrainian national and international championships and finalist rounds in countries including Israel, Holland, and Italy. Maksym also served as a judge, commissioner, and event organizer for many of Ukraine’s top competitions. He holds a Level I judging License, and is 1 of only 10 licensed DanceSport Commissioners in Ukraine. Maksym played soccer alongside his competitive dance career for 8 years, and played for his High School Varsity Men’s Soccer team in Kiev, Ukraine. His son Ilya is also a trained competitive dancer.
