\"\"<\/a>We\u2019ve got a busy week coming up, so please mark your calendars, set your smartphone alarms and make plans to join us for some great dance fun!<\/p>\n

On Thursday, June 21, we have a Mini Boot Camp from 6:30-8 p.m. with Ben<\/strong>, who is the dance director many of the Houston studios. The Mini Boot Camp will include rounds of Smooth and Rhythm dance styles.<\/p>\n

Relax after the Mini Boot Camp with our Under the Sea Ice Cream Social at 8 p.m. Yum!<\/strong> Enjoy some ice cream, social dancing and demonstrations. This event is open to the public. Dress for the theme and get entered into a raffle for prizes.<\/strong> This will also be a potluck, so bring a favorite dish and get entered in the drawing for free lessons.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve scheduled a doubleheader for Friday, June 22. There\u2019s Dancing under the Stars at the Sugarland Town Square in front of City Hall<\/strong>, where we will be teaching an open class to the public \u2013 the theme will be Latin dances \u2013 and it\u2019s FREE!<\/p>\n

Then, at 9 p.m., we\u2019ve got the Student Social Club.<\/strong> This is a meet-up for students \u2013 students and staff pick a place to go out dancing for a fun night out on the town! The group will meet in front of town hall after the Dancing under the Stars event.<\/p>\n

There are also a couple of regional dance events of interest coming up.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, June 16, there\u2019s HOUSTON\u2019S GOT TALENT at The Improv Houston<\/strong> \u2013 this is the \u201cfinale\u201d to our Summer Festival Period. The talent show is hosted by FADS Houston and anyone (even if they are not a FADS member) can enter.<\/p>\n

The winner will walk away with a $500 cash prize or 10 free private lessons!<\/strong> Space is limited to 20 contestants. Call us for more info!<\/p>\n

The other biggie is the Dance Derby on June 29 (Friday) and 30 (Saturday)<\/strong> at the Airport Marriot in Houston. This is a regional competition with food, drinks, and lots of dancing. Friday night will be Team Match stakes and professional competition. Saturday night will be the Gala and the theme is “psychedelic”<\/strong>, so bring out the bright colors, bell bottoms, and peace signs! There will be a professional show to close out the night.<\/p>\n
