Why is there a little spring in our step? Because it’s spring! And great events at Fred Astaire Dance Studio Memorial are busting out all over.
On Tuesday, April 4, we’ll have sessions with coach Ilya Ifraimov. Contact your instructor as soon as possible to book time with Ilya.
Ilya is a 6-time Fred Astaire National Champion and United States Professional Latin Grand Finalist. He is a world class coach, adjudicator and choreographer who has been a member of the NDC (National Dance Council) since 2005 and has collaborated in the creation of the International Latin Syllabus.
Our Spring Party is Friday, April 7. It is (you probably guessed) Easter-themed. We’ll have drinks and food, and student performances as well as pro performances. We’ll have a meringue line and plenty of other fun activities.
We’re into coaching again on Wednesday, April 12, with coach Alan Fenwick, Texas Regional Dance Director. Come and learn from one of the best!
CCDC Is our National Competition this year and it’s extra special because, for the first time, it will be hosted here in Houston. It will be at the new Marriott Marquis in downtown Houston. Wait until you see this – it has a Texas-shaped Lazy River on the roof and a bunch of restaurants throughout the hotel. CCDC will be taking place from April 18-22. Again, stop by or talk to your instructor for more information about this event.
Friday, April 28 brings a Practice Party! You’ll need to practice all the great steps and techniques you learned from Ilya and Alan, so please do join the party. We’ll have drinks and food. We will have student performances as well as a pro performance. We will have a merengue line and many other mixer activities to give you a chance to meet more people.
This should fill your dance card! It’s going to be a great April at Memorial. Come in and dance with us.
