Traffic, workloads, the endless bombardment digitally of news, advertising and social media can lead to feeling as if we are already behind in our \u201ckeep up\u201d world before our day even begins.<\/p>\n<p>How do we blow off this stress?<\/p>\n<p>The unhealthy ways are eating too much, drinking too much or\u00a0complaining too much.<\/p>\n<p>We offer you a better approach. A fun approach. One that relaxes, soothes and becomes a way to forget the surrounding tumult.<\/p>\n<p>That way is dance.<\/p>\n<p>Dancing can help fight depression more effectively than other outlets. An article in Women\u2019s Health Magazine cites a study in the New England Journal of Medicine that examined 11 physical activities. Researchers discovered that dancers have more mental acuity and lower their risk of developing brain disease over the long term compared with those who do not dance. Dancing was the only activity of the 11 studied that lowered the risk of dementia by at least 76 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes you can think you are losing your grip in the none-stop world of modern life. Don\u2019t succumb. Instead, grab a partner and dance. Drop in at your local Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studio and take a group class or a private lesson in ballroom dance or enjoy a practice party.<\/p>\n<p>Do yourself (and your brain) a favor.
