Congratulations, Team Match Competitors!

It was the Roaring 20s vs the Smokin’ 1970s & all of the Fred Astaire studios in NJ came together at the Sheraton Mahwah this past Saturday, January 16th to bring their talents to the dance floor for an amazing, spirited one-day ballroom & latin dance competition!

We’d like to congratulate all of Saturday’s competitors, especially FADS Morristown Students & Staff who did an amazing job!

Everyone did a fabulous job representing our studio and 70s team at the competition & we are so very proud!  Our student competitors were Pia Cardillo, Joanne Johnson, Alexandra Kiely, Halina Kolano, Stacy Limone, Karl Pettersen, Melinda Scotti, Victoria Sebastian, Tammy Siana & Yongyu Wang.

At the Saturday evening banquet Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Morristown received the Top Studio Award, and we are so thrilled and honored!

In her first-ever competition experience our student, Melinda Scotti, received awards for Top Newcomer Dancer, Top Bronze Student & Top Overall Student of Team Match 2016! Melinda’s hard work on the practice dance floor has paid off and we couldn’t be more proud of her very impressive achievement!

All of our gentlemen instructors — Greg Capar, Tsvetomir Stoynov & Joe Miller — each received Top Teacher Awards.  What an honor it is to know we have the best dance instructors in the state of New jersey on our teaching staff!

Staff member Natalie brought home a special trophy for her Personality of the Year & our front desk executive Cristina was awarded the Top Receptionist award for the 3rd year in a row!

The banquet evening was elegant yet full of fun and dancing!  We thank our competitors as well as our banquet attendees who make us the best studio in New Jersey!  We appreciate that you were with us to cheer, help us receive our studio award & make the night a truly special evening!

We hope you all keep up the great work & join us again for the next upcoming competition, the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan DanceSport Challenge in Atlantic City!  If you haven’t already, be sure to see your teacher to find out how you can be part of the fun on the competition dance floor this March!
