The 2018 Metropolitan DanceSport Competition is just around the corner!<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Fred Astaire Morristown will be returning to the luxurious Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch, NJ once again!\u00a0 This inter-regional competition will bring together student dancers from Fred Astaire studios located across New York and New Jersey.\u00a0 The dancesport competition will be taking place over the course of three days: Thursday, March 8th through Saturday, March 10th.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The event will include both International and American style divisions, as well as a special show division.\u00a0 Thursday evening will kick off with\u00a0 mostly shows; Friday will be an all day event concluding with the professional competition in the evening, and Saturday will be another full day finishing with a formal banquet. The banquet will feature dinner, dancing and professional performances including a show by World Rhythm Champions Nazar & Irina!\u00a0 Advance reservations are required for the latter, but spectator tickets can be purchased at the door of the event for all other competition sessions.\u00a0 Read on for more info!<\/div>\n

Spectator admission for matinee sessions Friday & Saturday will be $35 (cash only) per person.\u00a0 Spectator admission for evening sessions is $40 (cash only) per person.<\/div>\n

Thursday evening 3\/8\/18 will kick off with the exciting showcase division!\u00a0 Join us this evening to witness our student competitor, Rika Yamaguchi, perfom two of her thrilling solo shows during this portion of the dancesport competition.<\/div>\n

Friday’s dancing (Session 2) will begin at 9am with the American Smooth division, so plan to stop by to take in Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz & more!\u00a0 Stop by to see Rika Yamaguchi competing! This session will also feature the Latin division.<\/div>\n

Join us again Friday evening for International Standard Ballroom during Session 3, followed by the exciting Professional divisions!\u00a0 Join us to see your instructors, Natalie Duke Honkonen, Joe Joe Hasson & Tsvetomir Stoynov compete as all styles will be represented in this division.<\/div>\n

Session 4 of the dancesport competition will begin Saturday morning, March 10th at 9:00am.\u00a0 This session will feature
\nthe American Rhythm division, so get ready to shake things up with Cha Cha, Rumba, Hustle and more!\u00a0 Stop by this session to see both Sherine Morsi & Rika Yamaguchi compete!<\/div>\n
