It originated in the Dominican Republic in the early 20th century, and for a long time, it was considered music for the poor and working class. But by the 1990s, Bachata underwent a glow-up. With artists like Aventura and Romeo Santos bringing it to the mainstream, Bachata began showing up in clubs across the globe. The dance style evolved too\u2014still romantic and close, but now with smoother steps and a modern edge.<\/p>
