October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and your Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Scottsdale is very mindful of this serious disease, and of all the efforts to raise funds to treat it and to help survivors live full lives again.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are offering complimentary group classes in October to breast cancer survivors and their families. Attend as many as you want at no charge.
We particularly recommend all of the beginner classes. Obviously that’s a great place to start for novices. Survivors who have dance experience would enjoy most of the classes, especially if they’ve taken lessons at Fred Astaire Dance Studios.
We hope you join us for our wonderful classes and some fun on the dance floor! Questions? Please call the studio at (480) 473-0388.
Fred Astaire Scottsdale is committed to making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. To that end, our dance instructors at Fred Astaire Scottsdale also teach a group class once a month for survivors — those who are in or finished with treatment — at the Virginia G. Piper Center as part of their Mind, Body, & Spirit program. It’s free to cancer patients and $10 for others. Any funds raised are put back into the program. The next date is Wednesday, Oct 12. You can find more information at https://www.honorhealth.com/healthy-living/events.
Are you looking for a way to help fight breast cancer? May we suggest a donation to the research mission of the Susan G. Komen organization? There are three research choices from which you can choose: Stage IV/Metastatic Breast Cancer Research, General Breast Cancer Research, and Triple Negative Breast Cancer Research. More information can be found at the Susan G. Komen website.
Almost everyone has been touched in one way or another by this terrible disease, whether it has affected them personally, or a family member or friend. Join us this month as we honor the brave survivors and their families, and encourage them to dance, dance, dance!
