We love to dance. Not just those of us at Fred Astaire Dance Studio. All of us. What signifies happiness more than dancing – at weddings, religious occasions, parties? That first dance between two people is often the first bit of magic between those who have been looking for each other all of their lives.
As we become adults, we lose some of that ability to make friends outside of our work world. Social dancing is one of the best ways to put ourselves – especially singles – in an environment that yields an easy congeniality and access to like-minded people in a fun and non-threatening environment. Dancing, especially in classes at Fred Astaire, allows singles to meet, mix, build confidence and become more outgoing. It is a low-pressure atmosphere and the students enjoy the common goal of learning to dance.
We say this is a far better way for singles to meet others, to experience them, than having to yell over the sound system in a bar to hold a simple conversation. The chance to learn and work and laugh with others in a group setting where there is a common goal and a positive, enjoyable activity makes a setting like Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Northbook ideal to improve your social life and spend time with other singles who have the same zest for camaraderie. It is so easy to meet and enjoy others on the dance floor and then pop out afterwards for a cup of coffee and some more conversation.
Join us for a fun evening of dancing and mingling with other Chicagoland singles on Thursday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. The evening will include a beginners’ ballroom group class, open dancing, and refreshments. Admission is $10. Please RSVP to 847-272-4202. You’ll be glad you did. So glad, in fact, that you’ll be dancing.
