Dance Moves for Everyone in the Wedding!

Dance Moves

If you’re planning a wedding, chances are you’re already looking into dance lessons. The first dance is a beautiful few minutes to be remembered for a lifetime. Through video and photography you’ll look back on that beautiful day and remember the love and joy from the biggest day of your life. You will also however, remember the vodka fueled twerk-fest that took place immediately afterward at the reception. In the hopes of keeping it classy, (you can thank me later brides). Here’s a list of some great and simple dance moves for everyone at your wedding. No worries if someone has 2 left feet, if they can walk to and from the bar, they can do these dances!

Great & Simple Dance Moves:

Box Step

The Man starts on his Left Foot, and takes a step Forward
The Right Foot moves to the Side
The Left Foot comes together
The Right Foot moves Back
The Left Foot moves to the Side
The Right Foot comes Together

The Woman starts on her Right Foot and takes a step Back
The Left Foot moves to the Side
The Right Foot comes Together
The Left Foot moves Forward
The Right Foot moves to the Side
The Left Foot comes Together

The step should look like you’re making a square on the floor (that’s why it’s called a box step.) The video above is showing the step in the Waltz timing, but you can do this step to many different types of music by changing the timing to the tempo of the song.

Underarm Turn

The Man starts on his Left Foot, and takes a step Forward
The Right Foot moves to the Side
The Left Foot comes together
The Right Foot moves Back
The Left Foot moves to the Side
The Right Foot comes Together (repeat 2x)

The Woman starts on her Right Foot and takes a step Back
The Left Foot moves to the Side
The Right Foot comes Together
The Left Foot moves Forward
The Right Foot moves Forward
The Left Foot moves Forward
The Right Foot moves Forward
The Left Foot moves Forward
The Right Foot moves Forward
The Left Foot moves Forward
The Right Foot moves to the Side
The Left Foot comes Together

The man’s steps are the same as the box, he just repeats the pattern twice and raises the Left arm for the Lady to go under. The Lady does half of a box and then 6 steps forward in a circle back to face the man, then completes the rest of the box with him.
