For many generations, cotillions were the way that youth and adults (but mostly youths) learned to socialize through dance.
Your Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Paradise Valley won’t be quite so formal, but we are pleased to announce the start on Monday, August 1st, of our Kids Class. What a fabulous way to get your offspring involved in a healthy activity that offers not only social interaction but exercise as well.
Classes will be held each Monday from 4:20-5 p.m. We welcome kids from ages 5-12. A single drop-in class is $30 while the package of eight is $200.
Give your child the gift of improved self-confidence and social skills. What a great chance for pre-teens, who can be a little shy around the opposite sex, to learn to dance in a calming, non-threatening, conducive environment.
Dancing is a highly physical activity, and kids who take dance lessons regularly should expect to see a significant improvement in their overall physical health. It is beneficial for strength, stamina, flexibility, coordination and balance. Dancing is an aerobic form of exercise and for overweight children it may help them to lose weight while strengthening their self-confidence. Dance is a wonderful means of self-expression as well.
Grab the kids, load them in the minivan, and come on down to Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Paradise Valley on Monday, August 1st, from 4-4:30 p.m. You’ll enjoy it as much as they will.
