  1. Go to the movies<\/strong> \u2013 and order that buttered popcorn.\u00a0 Make it a trip back to your childhood with one of the great animated films or try your favorite best-seller now on the big screen.<\/li>\n
  2. Create a memory <\/strong>\u2013 for your whole family.\u00a0 Open up that box of old photos and memorabilia.\u00a0 Go to a local arts and crafts store and take a lesson in scrapbooking and then start creating special memories for all the people you love.\u00a0 These scrapbooks make great Christmas presents so you could even cut back on your Holiday shopping!<\/li>\n
  3. Sit down at the computer<\/strong>.\u00a0 Learn a new program or a new skill.\u00a0 Learn with YouTube is all about.\u00a0 If there\u2019s something you want to learn to do on the computer or another skill you want to pick up, you\u2019re going to find the YouTube probably has a video that will teach you how.\u00a0 Get comfortable with all the new technology and you\u2019ll use it all year long.<\/li>\n
  4. Be a tourist <\/strong>in your own hometown.\u00a0 Check out the local (air conditioned!) museums and art galleries that you haven\u2019t taken the time to visit recently.<\/li>\n
  5. Volunteer \u2013 <\/strong>Doing good is going to make you feel good.\u00a0 What\u2019s your interest?\u00a0 Children?\u00a0 Volunteer at a children\u2019s shelter or women\u2019s shelter that needs help with the kids.\u00a0 Try the hospital or a nursing home.\u00a0 After all, a trip from your air conditioned home in your air conditioned car to an air conditioned building isn\u2019t that bad.<\/li>\n
  6. Go to a bookstore.<\/strong>\u00a0 They may almost be a thing of the past with the emphasis on electronic books, but they\u2019re still out there and they still have lots of shelves to browse, comfortable chairs to preview a book and most have a place where you can get an iced coffee or cold drink.<\/li>\n
  7. Eat out.<\/strong>\u00a0 Plan a summer celebration at your favorite upscale restaurant.\u00a0 Sure, you can find air conditioning and food at a coffee shop, but you won\u2019t get the pampering and service you\u2019ll find at a great steakhouse or a Continental restaurant.\u00a0 A summer splurge is worth the price.<\/li>\n
  8. Learn to dance.<\/strong>\u00a0 Or, brush up on your dance skills.\u00a0 Go to an established dance center.\u00a0 You\u2019ll learn new steps, build confidence and, best of all, make new friends.\u00a0 Plus, this will add the exercise you\u2019re missing because of the heat back into your schedule!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
