Things are hopping at the Fred Astaire Stone Oak studio and we want you to be a part of the all the fun events coming up.<\/p>\n<p>Clear the calendar. Here we go:<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve got a social party on Friday, Aug. 11 at 8 p.m. What\u2019s on the agenda? We\u2019ve got social dancing, finger foods, wine, student performances, and pro performances. It\u2019s always fun to watch your instructors and your friends and peers display the results of their hard work and passion on the dance floor.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll take a slightly different competitive angle for our Jocks vs. Nerds Party with at the Alamo Heights studio. It also begins at 8 p.m. Come on out and meet more of your fellow students while we pick sides and compete.<\/p>\n<p>While we\u2019re talking competition, let us remind you of Texarama at the Westin Memorial in Houston. It is a regional event that features a newcomers team match, professional competition, student competition, and an Around The World Themed Banquet. It takes place Friday, Aug. 18, and Saturday, Aug. 19.<\/p>\n<p>Spectators can buy tickets at the door. Talk to your instructor, as tickets will be for specific portions of Texarama. Here\u2019s the thumbnail schedule:<\/p>\n<p>*Student Smooth dance competition on Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>*Pro competition is Friday, 9 p.m.-11p.m.<\/p>\n<p>*Newcomers team match, Friday, 5 p.m.-9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>*Student Rhythm &amp; Country Western competition, Saturday, 9 a.m.-4pm<\/p>\n<p>*Around the World themed Banquet, Saturday, 6:30 p.m.-10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Another reminder: We have the talented Ania Tarnowska at Stone Oak for a day of coaching with students.
