The Fred Astaire World Championships are just about the most prestigious event we compete in and we’ve got a large contingent heading off to Las Vegas for this big event.
The FAWC takes place from July 14-18 at the Mirage Hotel and Casino. One of our students and four of our professionals will be taking part. This will be the biggest competition in the FAWC’s history, with 15,223 entries.
Lisa Mattson, one of our students, will be competing with her Instructor, Sergei Tryl. Sergei has been teaching at Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Tarrytown for five years. He is the 2008 International Dance Union World Formation Champion and became a 4-time National Ukrainian Formation Champion! He is also the 2011 Fred Astaire World and National International Latin Champion.
In the Pro Divisions we’ll have two couples competing, Sergei with his partner Adriana Dwyer, and Jordan Cowan with his wife Talia Barrington. Adriana, Jordan, and Talia are all relatively new members of the Tarrytown family and we couldn’t be more excited to cheer them on!
