\"sadie<\/span>Fred Astaire\u2019s Kids Dance Class<\/i><\/b>\u00a0allows children to enhance their movement, singing and body awareness skills.\u00a0 Your child will show improvement in balance, rhythm, motor skills, flexibility and good pre-technique skills like posture, leg and foot positions,\u00a0 and a strong point and arch. We focus on fundamental ballet\/tap movements, like plies and battements, shuffles and rhythms, while exploring different musical genres from Classical to Contemporary, Jackson Brown to Justin Bieber.\u00a0 Our goal is to improve your preschoolers gross motor skills, rhythm, coordination, balance and confidence, as well as spatial awareness movements like up\/down, left\/right and body movements such as twisting, turning, spinning, leaping, hopping, spiraling, rolling, and more.\u00a0 Movements like crawling, crab-walks, bear-walks and more will build your child\u2019s muscles.\u00a0 They will also encounter social skills like listening, taking turns, team-work and following-directions. \u00a0The only kids dance class of it’s kind.<\/p>\n

Dance Lessons with Meaning<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

With dance core basics, we aim to help your child stay active and healthy.\u00a0 There\u2019s no telling what a 3, 4 and 5 year old can\u00a0absorb or retain as far as a \u201croutine.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>We aim to help your child develop a love for dancing and moving his or her body, and expressing emotions.\u00a0 Young children have an affinity toward music, movement and dance.\u00a0 We will help them burn calories and energy, strengthen their muscles, improve flexibility, provide an emotional outlet.\u00a0 They will sleep better!\u00a0 We will ask them to move like they are excited, or angry, or happy.\u00a0 They will gain praise expressing themselves, they will have greater self-esteem and confidence, and emotional awareness.\u00a0 We\u2019ll also explore manners and \u201cnoise-pollution\u201d such as screaming in a small space, and being kind to your neighbors.\u00a0 <\/span>We will also employ techniques like puppet-command, and Simon Says and other games as a form of exploring movement, your child\u2019s own creativity, and to help your child become stronger, more advanced and a better thinker.<\/span><\/p>\n

Child-Led, Kid-Friendly Dance Lessons<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

The best part of our Kid’s Dance\u00a0Program – your child is in charge.\u00a0 If she\/he wants to wear tights and tutus and leotards, great.\u00a0 We\u2019re big proponents of child-led activity.\u00a0If your child is ok with a bun and pink ballet slippers, that\u2019s fine, but if they want to come in their after-school clothes, we are ok with that too.\u00a0\u00a0 The \u201cdiscipline\u201d \u00a0of proper dress will come later.\u00a0 We want your child to love coming to dance. We will make his\/her classes the highlight of your week.\u00a0 And you or your Nanny can walk to the studio, drop off your child and go run some errands. There is a staff member outside the class to help should your child need to leave class for any reason.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pre-Dance: Tuesdays from 1:15 – 2:00PM.\u00a0 $90 for a 6-week session.\u00a0 <\/span>Sessions are paid in full prior to the start of each session.\u00a0 Ages 3.5-6 welcome.\u00a0 Ballet and tap shoes recommended.<\/span><\/p>\n
