Karin Roche was a valued student of ours for more than 15 years, and she made a big impact not only on us but the entire local dance community. She was a lovely person and we, and her family and many friends, miss her very much. We are honoring her memory at the studio on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 7-9 p.m. with a black tie event that we know you will want to attend.
Karin, who was 74, passed away on Aug. 18 at her home in Glastonbury with her beloved children by her side. Born in Germany on December 24, 1940, she emigrated to the U.S. in 1957. She is survived by her son, Frank Roche of Colchester; her daughter, Monique Roche of South Glastonbury; grandchildren Christopher Roche and Nicole Cardella; her aunt, Hildegard Unger and cousin, Heidy Weingartner, both of Germany; Ruth Roche of Florida and numerous friends. Her daughter and two of her grandchildren dance as well, so it really was a family affair for them and something that they enjoyed together.
The event will also be a fundraiser for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, which Karin dearly loved. Contact us for more information about this black tie event in Karin’s memory.
