Sometimes by \u201ccan\u2019t\u201d they mean \u201cwon\u2019t.\u201d At Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studios, we don\u2019t believe that any person \u201ccan\u2019t\u201d dance.<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s face it \u2013 you need to be able to get out on the dance floor at social events \u2013 weddings especially \u2013 and you might as well make your partner happy by being reasonably decent at it.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not as hard to pick up the basic steps as some folks think and it actually becomes fun with a little bit of early success.<\/p>\n
Stop worrying about how you think you look while on the dance floor. Frankly, unless you\u2019re, well, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, most people don\u2019t notice. They\u2019re engaged with their dance partner, making eye contact and having a good time. So loosen up and get moving!<\/p>\n
Men, women are happy if you can join them on the dance floor and lead. They\u2019re glad that you are involved in an activity with them that breeds intimacy. Women, men are not judging you as they dance with you. The average man on the dance floor is simply glad he\u2019s with someone who isn\u2019t critical of him, and he won\u2019t be critical of you.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s too much fun to be had on the dance floor for anyone to say \u201cI can\u2019t dance.\u201d We teach dance \u2013 and we know that anyone can learn, with a little effort and practice (which is why we have terrific practice parties!).<\/p>\n
