Want to see some really great ballroom dancing? Dancers from five Boys and Girls Clubs in Palm Beach County will compete for prizes on Monday, May 11 and we’re a big part of this exciting event.
The competition will take place at the Florence De George Boys and Girls Club at 4105 Pinewood Avenue in West Palm Beach at 5:30 p.m.
Dance instructor Tanya Payne of our studio is teaching the kids at the Boys and Girls Club and her students are ready to show off their new-found skills in both dance and socially. Judges at the competition from the West Palm Beach studio will be: Dance director Andreas Luetzner, Doreen Scheinpflug and Lydia Raurell. Suzanne Niedland of FADS of Jupiter will also judge.
There will be five clubs competing: De George, Max Fisher (Riviera Beach), Marjorie Fisher (West Palm Beach), Hirsch (Wellington) and Donnelley (Delray Beach). A light buffet will be served after the event for the children and their families.
The competition is sponsored by DanceSport Academy, Inc., a Florida not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation with headquarters in West Palm Beach. DanceSport Academy is dedicated to providing ballroom dance instruction to underserved children with the goal of enhancing self-esteem, self-discipline and social skills. Through these programs, children learn to treat each other with respect and that team effort will result in excellence.
Please join us at the Florence De George Boys and Girls Club on Monday at 5:30 p.m. Support these dedicated, young dancers, DanceSport Academy and your FADS West Palm Beach team!
