Message to the Fred Astaire Dance Studios®Wisconsin Family

March 19, 2020

As we all follow the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Fred Astaire Dance Studios®  in the Wisconsin region wants you to know that your safety is our top priority. You are an important member of our Fred Astaire Dance Studios® family, and we are working hard to navigate through these times while taking into account the impact on the lives of our team, our studio owners and our students.  These times are uncertain and challenging.  As Robert Schuller said “Tough times never last, but tough people do”.  We will get through these times together.

The current executive order from the governor of Wisconsin restricts gatherings to 9 or less and requires 6 feet distance between all persons.  Based on this, our studios are closed until further notice.

We have provided each of our independently-owned and operated franchised studio locations in our network with helpful guidelines detailing best practices from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Each of our franchisees have been provided information on how to identify symptoms of COVID-19, how to mitigate its spread and what to do if they suspect a case of COVID-19. Each of our franchisees have been instructed to thoroughly clean and disinfect their studios each evening, and as much as possible throughout the day, according to the CDC’s guidelines. We will continue to monitor this ever-changing situation closely, following sources including the CDC, WHO, and U.S., state, county and local health authorities.

We want you to know that Fred Astaire Dance Studios® is here for you during this time.  We mean it when we say that you are family and we want your health and well-being to be a top priority.  We are working towards more ways to stay in contact with you and will let you know as they are available.

Many of you have also asked what you can do to help.  We appreciate all the support you have already given to us in the past.  We appreciate each lesson and each event that you have partaken in, and we look forward to providing more opportunities for you in the future.  If your heart guides you to do more now, please feel free to inquire about our virtual dance lessons, but please never feel obligated to do so.

We miss you all already and look forward to working with you again soon!

Sincerely,

John Gates and Stephen Knight
