Amy began dancing at a young age, studying ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary and tap, and was assisting teachers by the time she was 12 years old. While attending Burncoat High School Dance and Performing Arts Program, Amy received world class dance training under Joan Sheary, Terri Gordon and Frank Hatchett. Amy was on the Dance Team in high school and was selected as Dancer of the Year 2002, an award presented to a public school student by the City of Worcester.
Her on stage experience began with various local theater productions, high school musicals, regional and national dance competitions, UMass Dance Team member, and had the privilege to be a cast member in the debut production of the Boston holiday classic, Anthony Williams’ Urban Nutcracker. Amy continued to light up the stage as a dance crew member aboard The Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and most recently, was cast as a ballroom dancer in the 2016 movie, The Finest Hours.
Since joining the Fred Astaire staff in 2007, Amy continues to expand her dance education by participating in regional conventions and master classes. She also enjoys competing with her dance partner, Dan Pace, in the professional division at regional and national competitions throughout the year. Her students include children and adults, at both recreational and competitive levels. She is eager to share her passion and love of dance with all students, encouraging them to have fun while striving to provide creative, challenging and quality dance instruction.
