The Regional Chamber held its annual Black & White Gala fundraiser this past Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Stambaugh Auditorium. Additional proceeds from the evening \u00a0went to benefit the Mahoning Valley American Red Cross. For the third year, the evening\u2019s featured event was the anticipated \u2018Dancing with the Stars\u2019 competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each year, the Chamber selects area celebrities to participate in the competition. This year, the celebrities selected were: Esther Buschau, the Director of Corporate Marketing with the Cafaro Company; Danny Catullo owner of Catullo Prime Meats; Dominic Marchionda, Principal and Chief Executive of NYO Property Group; Jennifer Roller, President of the Wean Foundation; Julie McAllister-Vugrinovich, Realtor for Howard Hanna\/WABOR; and Dan Yemma, Mahoning County Treasurer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Regional Chamber partnered with the\u00a0Youngstown Fred Astaire Dance Studio, who\u00a0donated lessons to the participants to help them prepare for the performance. During the past two months, professional instructors: Dustin Jones, Kristen Dobson, Nicholas Milano, Trevor Runco, Alexis Anderson and Lee Swinehart have been working with the celebrities, providing detailed instruction on their personalized routines- setting the stage for an unbelievable night of dancing!<\/span><\/p>\n

Dancing us through the decades, the performances ranged from the elegant waltz of the 1950s and the disco of the 1970s, to the energetic beats of the 1980s and more!<\/span><\/p>\n

Dominic Marchionda & instructor Kristen Dobson won-over the crowd and judges with their 1960s medley, taking home the \u201cMirror Ball Trophy.\u201d In addition, the Regional Chamber presented them with a grand prize of $1,000 to be donated to Dominic\u2019s chosen charity: the Rich Center for Autism.<\/span><\/p>\n
