What Is Salsa Dancing?
The vibrant dance form of Salsa originated in the Caribbean where it evolved from a fusion of different dance styles, including Cuban Son, cha-cha, mambo, and other Afro-Caribbean and Latin American dances. When you’re dancing salsa, you’re not just moving your body — you’re immersing yourself in a rich and vibrant cultural tradition that has made it all the way across the globe to our Salsa lessons in Boise.
Salsa is continuously evolving, and new modern dance styles are associated and named according to the geographical areas that they are developed in. Some of the popular Salsa styles are Cuban, Columbian, Los Angeles, New York (or Eddie Torres Style), Palladium, Puerto Rican, Rueda, and On Clave.
Of course, Salsa isn’t just about tradition and geographical styles — it’s also about having fun. Whether you’re dancing in our dance studio, in a club or at a party, Salsa is the perfect way to let loose and have a good time. With its fast-paced movements and sensual rhythms, Salsa is a dance style that is sure to get your heart racing and your feet tapping.
