What to Expect at Your First Lesson
After an introductory lesson — sign up for a $40 intro lesson! — you can join our Beginner Dance Program where you’ll start to learn basic ballroom dance patterns, foot positions, directional movements, and more.
Your new skills will grow even faster (and you’ll have a lot of fun) with access to unlimited group classes (including Mambo dance lessons!) and social dancing parties, where you can practice your moves to a variety of musical styles alongside the rest of your studio dance family.
Our knowledgable instructors are welcoming and passionate about teaching dancers of all levels. They strive to make each class a fun and positive experience for every student.
Get Started In Three Easy Steps!
Step 1
As a beginner, you’ll learn the movements and rhythm of the Mambo. Your instructor will help you feel familiar with the basic steps and show you how to move with the music.
Step 2
Practicing with a partner, you’ll get the hang of leading and following.
Step 3
Before you know it, you’ll be stepping across the floor to the music and having a great time!

What Is the Mambo?
The Mambo is an enduring classic in the world of Latin dance styles. In the 1940s, the mambo genre of music was becoming increasingly popular across Latin America and bandleaders developed a new dance style to accompany the music. The exuberant dance style took U.S. dance halls and nightclubs by storm in the 1950s.
The Mambo is energetic and fast-paced, danced in 4/4 time. The basic Mambo move is usually a side step. The dance is recognizable due to dancers’ exaggerated hip movements, quick arm wraps and turns, flowing upper body and overall playful and vibrant style.
