DOYLESTOWN, PA – On March 26th, the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Doylestown held their long-awaited Diamond Cup Showcase at the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm in Holicong, Pennsylvania.
After two years of postponing the event due to COVID-19, the Doylestown studio was finally able to make their vision come true.
Studio owners Igori Bogatiriov and Yuliya Jung collaborated with the excellent staff and management at the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm. Known for its historic charm, the well-established bed and breakfast and wedding venue provided the Doylestown Team the perfect space to dance.
35 students participated including singles, amateur, and wedding couples.
The Doylestown studio beat their own record, holding over 800 single dance heats throughout the day. The day-long event was split into 2 parts: Daytime Dancing and the Evening Gala.
The daytime consisted of dancing in 6 categories: Smooth, International Standard, Argentine Tango, Rhythm, International Latin and Night Club Dances. Students were judged by members of the Fred Astaire Dance Studios company: Vladislav Ivanov, Gabriela Jileva, and professional couple from Florida, Kevin Ubillus and Milagros Lareto.
During the evening, guests were greeted with a beautiful ballroom full of dining tables, open bar, and a photography red carpet. Following was a grand dinner graciously provided by the Inn. Friendly chatter amongst students, friends and family was constant as the night continued. After dinner, 6 of the students performed solo numbers with their instructors including a wedding couple, recurring and new students. Everyone showed their support with loud applause.
Guest professionals Kevin Ubillus and Milagros Lareto dazzled with 3 incredible performances that made the crowd go wild. Doylestown studio professionals and instructors Val Golubev and Rita Golubeva enchanted everyone with their jaw-dropping Argentine Tango routine.
The Doylestown Team was beyond happy with the turnout and cannot wait for another year of sharing their dance knowledge with all students, old and new. They are honored to be part of the Doylestown community and look forward to more growth moving forward.
