Ballroom and Latin Dance Lessons in Beaverton

Welcome to Fred Astaire Dance Studios Beaverton, a friendly, locally owned and operated ballroom and Latin dance studio in Progress Ridge TownSquare on SW Horizon Boulevard. We’re part of the Fred Astaire Dance Studios family, co-founded by Fred Astaire himself, but our focus is right here at home: helping people from Beaverton and the west side of the Portland area feel confident and happy on the dance floor. We opened our Beaverton studio in 2023, and it’s been a joy to grow a dancing community here.

What We Teach

We teach a wide range of partner dances, from the waltz, foxtrot and tango to salsa, bachata, cha cha, swing and the country two-step. Our lessons come in three formats that work together:

  • Private lessons, on your own or as a couple, where we focus on you and move at your pace.
  • Group classes, where you practice steps and technique and meet other dancers.
  • Social dance parties, where we turn down the lights, turn up the music, and put it all together.

We also help couples get ready for their wedding dance. Adults of every level are welcome, from first-timers to experienced dancers looking to polish their skills. Kids and teens ages 5 to 17 are welcome too: they take one-on-one private lessons with an instructor and join our group classes and dance parties right alongside our adult students.

How We Teach

Everyone learns differently, so we start where you are. Our instructors break each dance into small, simple steps, explain the why behind each movement, and build from there. Our studio is warm, encouraging and judgment-free. If you think you have two left feet, you’re exactly the kind of student we love to teach.

No Partner Needed

You’re welcome to come on your own or with a partner. In private lessons you’ll dance with your instructor, and our group classes and parties are a relaxed, friendly way to dance with other students. Whether you’re preparing for a wedding, planning a fun date night, or looking for a new way to stay active and meet people in Beaverton, there’s a place for you here.
