Gentry Fielder

Gentry started dancing at the age of five with a mixture of tap, ballet, jazz, and modern. Throughout many moves across the country, dance was the most constant driving force for creating goals and having community. In 2014, the opportunity arose to join the world of ballroom dancing as an instructor. He has fallen in love with working with students of all ages, backgrounds, and ability levels to achieve the joys of dance.

Creating special moments, whether it be a first dance at a couple’s wedding or the 100th heat at a student’s first competition, is an experience that makes every moment of work and preparation worth it. It also helps when all of those moments leading up to it are filled with fun and friends.

This love for the journey has led Gentry to being a top teacher at a variety of levels both in the studio and on the competition floor. He has won several divisions in Pro-Am events as well as World Smooth titles in early professional divisions.

While these accomplishments have helped to drive a desire to continue to improve as a dancer and teacher, some of the biggest moments of joy have been in the studio — helping students develop confidence in their social dancing, spend time with someone they love, meet people that they can look forward to seeing, work through injury rehabilitation in a fun way, and look in the mirror to find a more empowered version of themselves.
