Khrystyna Mendela – Dance Instructor

Khrystyna brings a wealth of talent to Fred Astaire Madison. A native of Kherson, Ukraine, she began her dance training at four years old and went on to pursue competitive Latin dance. She has been honing her craft, mastering the intricate moves and graceful footwork that make Latin ballroom dancing such a captivating spectacle. Khrystyna and her dance partner Denys Fesenko participated in several championships throughout Ukraine and Europe where she got many well placed classifications. In the youth category, she competed in several high-profile competitions, including the Europa Imperial Championships and the International Championships, where she was a semi-finalist in both events. She also participated in the 2018 Dutch Open Championships, where she reached the quarter-finals among the 143 couples dancing, showcasing her talent and proving her worth as one of the best dancers of her generation.

Besides the competitions, she has starred in the lead role of the Ukrainian dance production the Gypsy Show, where she captivated audiences with her spellbinding performances. Khrystyna has also conducted Ballroom Latin Masterclasses in Kharkiv, Kiev, Kherson, and other major cities in Ukraine, where she has shared her knowledge and expertise with aspiring dancers.

Khrystyna’s exceptional skills and experience have earned her invitations to top Ukrainian training camps as a lecturer, personal coach, and performer, where she has imparted her skills and knowledge to the next generation of dancers. 

Her specialization in children’s competitive dancing and stretching has made her one of the most sought-after coaches in the field. In addition to her dancing career, Khrystyna earned her Rhythmic Gymnastics Master of Sport in 2015, which has helped her to stay fit and maintain her agility and grace on the dance floor. 

She graduated from college with a degree in Nursing, which underscores her commitment to helping others.

At our dance studio she continues to inspire and mentor dance students, hoping to inspire them to reach for their dreams and achieve their full potential as social and competitive ballroom dancers.

She has a passion for Arts and outside the studio, she likes to spend her time pencil drawing human forms and faces. In addition she love to create and Innovate new forms of artistic make-up. Making the most daring looks with a range of glitters, bold blush and colored creams to create new looks for every day make-up use, special events, dance competitions, and more. She cherishes the opportunity to nurture and care for all types of animals, specially to work with her mother’s 25 dogs and cats she helped to raise. She likes Asian food and loves to learn and cook every cuisine around the world.
