Stacey Berger started dancing at the age of 5 at a dance company in California. She became a ballet soloist at the age of 8 and was the company lead soloist at age 9. Ballet was her first love an trained almost exclusively in it until she was in her late teens. At that point she included tap, jazz, and lyrical into her training. She danced all styles in colleges on the west coast but continued to specialize in ballet at a prestigious company in Oregon in her college years. As an adult Stacey not only continued to dance and perform but she also owned and ran multiple dance studios. During that time she taught students that earned college scholarships and won national titles. Choreography became a specialty for Stacey in all styles of dance, musical theater and gymnastics. She won many choreography awards at regional competitions as well. Stacey was ready for the next challenge and wanted to grow in the ballroom styles of dance. She has been coached by some great national and world champions over the years. As she focused on ballroom Stacey realized she loved the dynamic of partnership in dance and found that it had so many profound effects on her every day life. She loves being able to teach ballroom to people of all ages and abilities. Blessing others with the gift of dance and all the effects it has on health, relationships, psychology, and emotions is what she loves most. She truly believes in the Fred Astaire system, and mission of “pursuing the excellence of life through dance.”
