Youth Dance Programs
There are so many amazing mental, emotional, physical, and social benefits to dancing-why wouldn’t we want our children to get started as soon as possible! We are so excited to be able to offer the chance for highschoolers, and children as young as 7 to be introduced to ballroom dancing. And as we firmly believe dance is for all ages, we love that we can provide classes for young children and toddlers, as well.
We primarily teach kids and teens 7 – 19 years of age. However, we love our tiny tots and dance with me classes which are for youth 6 years and under, when available. Our most popular youth classes are our Kids: 7 to 9 years Pre-Teens: 10 – 13 years Teens: 14 – 19 years
About our Classes
Our youth dance classes are 40-minutes long and are perfect for introducing youth to the world of ballroom dancing. We have three primary classes (kids, pre-teens, and teens) which are specially designed for the students they serve.
Fred Astaire Kids
Fred Astaire Kids is a fun class recommended for kids between the ages of 7 and 9. This program will cover an introduction to a variety of dance elements taken from a variety of popular Ballroom and Latin dances, such as the Waltz, Swing, Bachata, and Foxtrot!
In addition to these skills, students will learn a short choreographed routine that incorporates the material they are learning during their class. They will perform their dance routine at the end of their last class (week 10) for any friends or family members who would like to come watch!
Partners are not necessary for this class. We will not be teaching traditional Leading & Following for this age group. This class is focused on showing students how fun and easy ballroom dancing can be, while building their confidence, and developing basic dance skills such as balance, control, rhythm, and expression. Our classes are great for both boys and girls.
Fred Astaire Pre-Teens
Fred Astaire Pre-Teens is a fun class recommended for pre-teens between the ages of 10 and 13.

Ballroom for Teens
Our teen ballroom dance classes are designed to introduce teenagers, 14 years and older, to the world of ballroom dance through fun and easy instruction. We will cover the basic patterns and elements from a 4 to 6 of our most popular Ballroom & Latin dances, which could include the Waltz, Rumba, Bachata, Foxtrot, Swing, Tango, Cha Cha, Salsa, and more! We carefully choose which dances to cover based on the classes ability and any prior familiarity with these styles.
There are so many great reasons why teens should learn how to social dance. Taking ballroom dance classes as a teenager increases their confidence when in social settings, builds self-discipline, and teaches them respect for others, in addition to gaining better balance, control, rhythm, musicality, and more!
Partners are not necessary for this class. While partners are not necessary for our teen classes, unlike our younger groups, we will be introducing the basics of leading and following in these classes. Students will learn about dance etiquette and how to properly and appropriately dance with another person. These skills are especially important at this age, when many teens will start going to school dances, such as prom or homecoming.
Because we do not require students to register with a partner, there may be an uneven amount of leaders and followers in class, which is okay. We will rotate partners throughout the class to ensure everyone gets a chance to practice.
Our class sizes for our teens our kept much smaller than our younger groups. This is because we are working on how to lead and follow, and not just patterns. We want to ensure we can give our students the best experience, which includes helping them create healthy habits and safely execute the dances.
Ballet & Jazz Classes
Our Ballet & Jazz classes are perfect for kids who are looking to enjoy the fun and benefits of dance without a long-term commitment. While we ensure all of our students receive quality training, these classes are focused on the kids having a healthy environment to learn and develop good technique without the pressure of competitions or recitals.
These classes are typically offered for our younger dancers to help build a foundation for all future dancing!
Tuition
Tuition is due on or before the first class. You can pay in-person or over the phone. We do have the option to split the cost into 2 or 3 payments, if needed.
New Students will receive a 5% discount on their first set of dance classes!
