We at Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Brandon love to partner with the community to make our city and our world a better place. And we’ve got a terrific, fun event coming up that will do a lot of good for a lot of good people.
FADS of Brandon is reaching out to teens in foster care this Halloween and teaming up with local non-profit Grow Into You Foundation for a glamorous Masquerade Charity Ball. This fundraising event is set for Friday, Oct. 27, from 8-10 p.m. at the Brandon studio, and is open to the community. Tell your friends!
Attendees may dress for the occasion to enjoy an evening of dancing, including a group ballroom dance class, general dancing, professional ballroom dance demonstrations, spotlight dances, and a very special performance by four teens in foster care. These teens have been working with Fred Astaire Dance Studio’s certified instructors to showcase an unforgettable routine that will touch your heart.
General Admission for the Masquerade is $25 per person. In addition to a night of dance is a catered menu, multiple prize drawings, raffles (bring cash!!!) and additional opportunities to sponsor teens in foster care. You can pay at the door OR pay online. All proceeds to go to Grow Into You Foundation.
Grow Into You Foundation is on a mission to coach and mentor the underprivileged – specifically teens aging out of the foster care system. These teens cannot invest in themselves financially, and often lack the resources and skills to find a place to live or secure a job. They typically age out of a residential facility with no one to turn to, and can find themselves homeless, trafficked, incarcerated, or even back in the system as a parent. Grow Into You Foundation provides certified life coaching and mentoring, equipping these teens with life and job skills, and empowerment for tough life choices as well as their emotional wellbeing.
Fred Astaire Brandon is thrilled to be partnering with this wonderful foundation to support those most vulnerable in our society. We have been active this fall, utilizing the hashtag #FredAstaireCares to motivate staff and students to reach out to those in need. We are working with local charities, including causes for hurricane relief, pediatric and breast cancer research, our troops overseas, and teens in foster care.

How do I pay the general admission fee online?
Go to www.growintoyou.org/fredastaire. Scroll down to the “Buy Now” button. You will complete the payment through PayPal. (This keeps costs down for the foundation, so the teens get the most benefit from your generosity.) Enter the TOTAL amount you wish to spend, including all general admission fees and sponsorship amounts. (Example: To purchase 3 general admissions and a $100 sponsorship, I would make a total purchase amount of $175.00.) You will not receive paper tickets. Your name will be on a list on the night of the event, and you’ll receive an email confirmation for your generous donation.
We are offering several different sponsorship levels. Sponsorship is additional and optional, but you do need to pay general admission online or at the door to enter.
Sponsorships provide funds for teens to perform a choreographed routine, in masquerade attire, as well are receive coaching and mentoring from Grow Into You Foundation.
*Student Spotlight $75 – Perform a charity spotlight dance with your instructor. (This option is only open to current Fred Astaire students).
*$100 Sponsorship – Sponsor a teen in foster care and receive one free lesson* plus entrance into the VIP cocktail hour, 7-8 PM.
*$500 Sponsorship – Sponsor a teen in foster care and receive five free lessons*, entrance into the VIP cocktail hour, from 7-8 PM, plus your name included in online media coverage.
*$50 Monthly Sponsorship – Sponsor a teen in foster care for 12 consecutive months, and receive six free lessons*, entrance into the VIP cocktail hour, from 7-8 PM, your name included in online media coverage, and 50 additional raffle tickets. (To set up a recurring monthly payment to Grow Into You Foundation, click the “Donate to GIYF” button at the top of the event page HERE. You can still purchase your event tickets by clicking the “Buy Now” button at the bottom of the event page OR by paying at the door.)
Attendees will want to have extra cash on hand for a special line dance led by the Grow Into You Foundation teens, and a special offer from Fred Astaire.
