What I Love Most About Teaching: That it is a time for students to forget about everything else and just have fun while building a wonderful life skill.
Who I Admire Most and Why: I admire my late Grandfather tremendously. He taught me the importance of hard work, respect, and financial planning. He was a multi-business owner with a strong influence upon the community.
One Thing Most People Do Not Know About Me: My family has lived in the southern Colorado area and surrounding states for over four hundred years, as sheep herders and cattle ranchers.
Biography: Lawrence has always had a tremendous appreciation for The Arts as well as Athletics. There was never enough time in the day to cram in Advanced Art and Sports during his high school years. When Lawrence was a Senior in high school, he was introduced to Swing Dancing during a P.E. class. Once that happened, he was hooked. Lawrence went to Swing Dance Clubs with his friends during college every week. He was eventually asked if he wanted to become a Ballroom Dance Instructor by somebody in the dance community. After college, Lawrence taught Ballroom Dance for many years. Lawrence eventually met Lyndsy, who shared the same appreciation for The Arts, and soon became husband and wife. As life would have it, they were given the opportunity to open their very own Fred Astaire Dance Studio and are looking forward to enjoying life in Colorado Springs.
