Elena Astashenia is originally from Russia and began her dance career at the age of 6. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance Education and Artistic Direction of Ballroom Dance Studios.
Elena is a World Champion in the WDSF PD World Professional Latin Showdance division and a finalist of the WDSF PD Professional World Latin Championship. She is a multiple finalist and prizewinner of national and international championships and was a member of the Russian National Team. She holds the prestigious title of Master of Sport of Russia and is a licensed Russian National Dancesport Adjudicator.
Throughout her career, Elena has been a winner and finalist of national and WDSF international Latin championships across Europe and Asia, including Monaco, Spain, Italy, Austria, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Japan, China, Taiwan, and other countries. She is also a finalist and prizewinner of prestigious events such as the Blackpool Dance Festival, UK International Championships, and International Rising Star competitions.
In 2018, Elena moved to the United States, where she worked as a professional dance instructor with Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Albany, New York.
In 2026, she is an owner of Fred Astaire Dance Studios Deerfield Beach.
Elena is passionate about helping students of all levels discover confidence, joy, and personal growth through dance. Her teaching combines world-class technical expertise with warmth, encouragement, and a deep love for the art of ballroom dance.
