Alisha

Alisha was born into a family who loves to dance, you could say it’s in her blood. Growing up in New York, she was surrounded and influenced by all of the fine arts. She was introduced to the dance world at 6 years old; where she was classically trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, and hip hop throughout all of her school career. Being brought up in the Latin community, Alisha has been dancing social Latin/Rhythm dances (salsa, merengue, bachata, etc.) since she was young.

Alisha went to the University of Florida where she received a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education (K-6) and a Master’s degree in special education (K-12). She started her teaching career in 2015 and is currently teaching for the Lee County school district. Alisha’s goal is to always inspire students to be the best they could possibly be and to take risks.Just as she asks her students to push themselves to new heights she is continually pushing herself to do the same.

In 2020 she was offered the opportunity to join the professional team at Fred Astaire Fort Myers. Alisha enthusiastically accepted the opportunity to train, teach, and compete in a new form of dance. Alisha has successfully competed in multiple Fred Astaire competitions. She enjoys creating a positive, upbeat experience for her dance students here at Fred Astaire Fort Myers. Alisha loves to teach and dance all dances! Her absolute favorite dance is salsa because it is fun, exciting, and full of life!
