Sergey started dancing at the age of five in Berdiansk, Ukraine. Since childhood, Sergey has actively participated in all-Ukrainian ballroom dance competitions. In 2010, he became the runner-up at the Polish international tournament. In 2014, he received the title of Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine. Until 2016, he was the winner of multiple championships in Ukraine, including the Ukrainian Championship, Kyiv Open, Ukr Dance Cup, and Kharkiv Open.
Since 2019, he has lived in China and taught at Mabel Fong School. His students have been finalists in many WDC and WDSF championships.
