Nghi didn’t start dancing until she was 22 years old. Just a few years later, she has turned her passion into a career that she loves! Since she started dancing as a young adult, she knows from experience that anyone can learn how to dance. She loves working with students to achieve their dancing goals; whether it’s getting ready for a first dance in a wedding, or preparing for competition, she gives the support and guidance her students need to give their greatest performances. Her background in rowing, marathon running, yoga teacher training, and health counseling has given her the tools to build dance programs catered to her students’ individual lifestyle and needs. Her goal is to spread her love of dancing to the world!
As a Boston native, she spent six years rowing for the Boston Latin School girls’ crew team and developed a love for competition and team sports. Her experience there taught her how to create programs for athletes to get them ready for comp season, a valuable skill set that is utilized when preparing her students for their own dance competitions.
Nghi graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in Fashion Design, which provided her with comprehensive training and skill in women’s couture and ready to wear, as well as hair and makeup. She has painted the faces of many top dancers and even wears her own designs for competitions. Nghi helps her students look like champions before they even step on the dance floor!
In her free time from teaching, Nghi spends hours perfecting her own dancing. Bolstered by her success as a regional American Rhythm finalist, she travels from Massachusetts to Connecticut every week to dance with her fellow professional partner. With hard work and persistence, she dreams of someday becoming a US and World Dance Champion.
