March is more than the herald of spring. It brings us March Madness, on the basketball court and at the Sugarland studio.
Here’s our March Madness Contest: Students can earn points by taking group classes and dressing up according the particular dance being taught, with 2 points earned per day (not per class). Ten points = 3 Ballroom Blitz entries (12 max). Dress according to the style of the dance (it helps to get into the routine of wearing your practice wear to classes and helps you understand how your body moves in the appropriate clothing for that dance).
We’ve got lots more ahead as well.
- The St. Patrick’s Day Potluck and Starlight Rehearsal. This is set for Thursday, March 14, at 8 p.m. Better wear green or our resident leprechauns might pinch you! There’s a potluck signup on the studio announcement board. Bring your favorite dish to share and enjoy the culinary talents of your studio friends.
- Starlight. This student recital also has a mix of pro-am performers will also be welcoming members from Woodlands and River Oak, so there will be plenty of new people to meet and mingle with. It’s at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20 at a location to be announced. It is free to spectators.
- Astaire City Lights. This is a dinner theater put on by the staff and students of the Texas Region. It is taking place in Austin at the Renaissance Hotel on Saturday, March 30. Students can come here and perform their show routines or open routines to the song of their choice and enjoy a lovely seated meal followed by a cast party after the show! Students are encouraged to sign up to perform. Talk to your instructor!
