Hello December!
We kicked off the month last night with our Social Club Event at the Improv in Houston. There was a live salsa band and comedian Steve Byrne, who had us laughing all night long! Are you familiar with our Social Dance Club?
We want all of our students to take part in real-life social dancing outside of the studio. Once a month we plan a night out at a local nightclub/venu for all members to meet for the opportunity to dance with other students. There will always be instructors present to lend their expertise. (There’s no membership fee for the Student Social Club, but there may be a cover charge at certain venues.) Check back next month for our January outing!
Speaking of social dancing, we all know this time of year brings plenty of holiday parties, so in preparation for the season, our group series this month will feature all Christmas music! What a fun way to get into the holiday spirit!
As we get a bit closer to the end of the month, we’ll be holding our White Elephant Potluck. The date and time: Thursday, Dec. 20, at 8 p.m. This is so much fun, with so many surprises! We’ll enjoy a bit of everybody’s cuisine – bring a dish to share! What’s your specialty? We enjoy everything, from spinach dip to pigs-in-a-blanket. And there will be the White Elephant gift exchange – please limit expenditures to $25. Bring a great gift that would work for anyone and receive a great gift in return!
Please note some changes in our hours for the holidays: We are closed Monday, Dec. 24, Tuesday, Dec. 25, and have holidays hours (11 a.m.-5 p.m.) Dec. 26-28. The following week we are closed Monday, Dec. 31, and Tuesday, Jan 1. (Happy New Year!), with holidays hours (11 a.m.-5 p.m.) Jan. 2-4.
Busy times are ahead! Make sure you carve out a few hours a week to indulge your passions – dance, especially – as you shop and bustle about. Dance is a great holiday stress-buster and can put you right back in the holiday mood when time grows short and times grow tense.
