Originally from Ukraine, Mariya joined the Fred Astaire Dance Studios organization in 2013 and is incredibly grateful to be part of such an amazing dance family. Since then, she has dedicated herself to helping amateur and professional dancers grow, develop, and achieve their goals.
Through years of hard work, passion, and commitment to her students, Mariya has become a highly respected regional and national teacher and manager. In 2019, she and her team opened the popular Ahwatukee studio, where they are proud to be part of a warm, welcoming, and vibrant community. They love watching their students and aspiring professionals discover their potential and grow both on and off the dance floor.
Together with her partner, Ilya Velednitsky, Mariya is a 15-time Fred Astaire Champion, Fred Astaire Showdance Champion, 4-time Ohio Star Ball finalist, and 2-time United States Open Rhythm finalist.
For Mariya, there is nothing more rewarding than watching people grow physically, mentally, and emotionally through dance. Seeing her students gain confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve things they once thought were impossible is what makes teaching so meaningful to her.
