Angel began dancing at the age of 16 at Fort Pierce Westwood High School, where he performed with the school band and competed in numerous high school competitions, earning top placements. His passion quickly grew beyond the classroom as he began professional training at South Florida Dance Company, where he studied ballet, jazz, and contemporary. During that time, Angel was introduced to Wings to Fly Dance Company—a group that performs with individuals with special needs, embracing the motto: “we make people’s disabilities their abilities and give them their wings to fly and dance.” Angel still proudly dances and performs with them today. In late 2023, he began his professional ballroom career and has loved the journey ever since. Through working alongside Tanya and Michael, Angel has learned so much about the discipline, passion, and dedication it takes not only to grow as a dancer but to pour into his students as well. He’s incredibly thankful for all they’ve done for him and the ways they’ve helped him grow. Angel also credits much of his personal transformation to the mentorship of Tasha, Tara, and Tena from Wings to Fly. Without dance, he wouldn’t be the strong, charismatic, caring, and loving person he is today.
